Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween everyone! Just wanted to post a blogpost for my Halloween video. A little background about the decoration. Well, for starters the exterior decoration was strongly inspired by The Haunted Mansion Holiday (a seasonal overlay for the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland.) Then the interior decoration (foyer) was loosely inspired by Phantom Manor( Disneyland Paris version of the Haunted Mansion attraction.) Please note that there is a constant color scheme which a very important element in any room, seasonal decoration...... A color scheme very just ties everything together and really just makes things look more professional and put together.

Same Idea Different Time

Well I had this great idea to do something absolutely fabulous with the double window over the front entrance. The idea was to hang a wreath and garland right below the window. So I thought about, how about instead of doing this for only one holiday(because original this idea was only ment for Halloween) I will use the same idea for Christmas except to change it to Halloween to Christmas but that is pretty much self explanatory. For Halloween version the idea was actually thought up about two years ago but I never really had time to make it but that gave me more time to add even cooler ideas to already wonderful idea. In the picture(just for the Halloween version) it is not quite finish, yeah the basic shape and color it there but there are still some major details need to be add like that I'm planning to place a Jack-o-lantern inside the wreath and then add not really sure purple or orange lights in the wreath and garland. For the final details add skulls at the ends for the garland plus MY FAVORITE stick some of the colored lights into the jack-o-lantern and then change the light blubs in the Jack-o-lantern into clear light then change 2 out of 6 light blubs in the jack-o-lantern into flickering light blubs to give the appearance of a candle! Can't wait to see that take shape. For the Christmas one it is basically done execpt for some minor problems but no worries there really easy to fixes. Actually for the Christmas version,it was the starting point for me to revamp all my exterior Christmas decor. I used the same stuff for about 5 years and they were looking pretty shabby for I looked around in the internet and I got completely inspired by the Main Street decor in Disneyland. I just love to attention to detail and art to every little thing they do so I took that piece of advise and made a completely new Christmas decor for the exterior. By the way the Halloween decor is also inspired by Disneyland more specificly Haunted Mansion Holiday. Even if you not a fam of Disney still check out the decor,it's just simply amazing!

Collect!!!
Yeah, This might be basically the pollard opposite of the last post I did yet every important. Ever since last Halloween I was storming up ideas for new "scenes" for this year. I have already finalized my drafts of my ideas and the only I needed to get was the supplies. Well.... I already the main piece during the After Christmas sales and recently I just got the paint and other details. So as I get ready for the project and soon finish it in the upcoming spring the moral of this story plan things out and collect the supplies over a period a time. If I didn't do this right now, during September I would have been so broke and stressed out on this and other maintenance/updating projects plus not related activities I would gone into hiding until I finished everything. Plus, keep your projects in mind when you are shopping because you will end up seeing something that you need for the specific project(s). Soon I will post some pictures of my sketches for the upcoming Halloween Project 2009. Also some new elements and ideas for my existing decor already. Plus, I will post a picture to hint at my !NEW! theme for this upcoming Christmas season

Clean Sweep
Clean Sweep!! Yeah, everyone dreads this horrible task that ends up repaying itself yet it is just a pain in the .... Well, with the economy maybe it would a good time to clean up and thing you don't want and start collecting them so in the spring there will be plenty of junk to sell in a yard sale. And with the money you have made you can even buy more (defeating the propose of cleaning in the first place but oh well.) Also you even make more space for up coming projects or just redecorate your space. Well good luck!

Chinese New Year
Hello Everyone!!!!Finally, It's Chinese New Year and here's my home all decked out for all the celebrations.
Traditional Chinese New Year decor is very tacky even to Chinese people so that's why I totally didn't take out anything not Asian because from my experiences many people do completely take out anything not Asian any personally that is a little too much and a over kill to keep it tasteful unless you can prove me wrong.Yes, that can be beautiful that first glance but remember I have to live with this for almost a month and a half. Also I took many of the guidelines that Disneyland uses when decorating for a holiday or event like not completely change everything but just change several main points and incorporate the original theme. I do try to keep this in mind when I decorate for other holidays too. Well, I hope everyone enjoys and comment back plz. And tell friends and family about this blog!:)
